Back After A Long Hiatus...

I started this blog a year and a half ago during a transitional period in my personal life and career. Then, I took an extended break from posting while I adjusted to new responsibilities and a new schedule. Now, I feel ready to return to blogging... so here goes.

Although the trends change from time to time, classic looks never go out of style. and since I haven't been just living under a rock during all this time away, I've seen quite a few changes over the last year. Most notably, the skinny jeans look came into style and has continued to stick around. While I am not a fan, due to my curvy thighs, I've seen some people rock this look with quite a bit of success.

And that's what style is all about... finding something classic that works for your frame, your features, your coloring, and pairing it with something new, something eye-catching, or something just plain unique to you. Fashion is an ongoing conversation with the world around you, using fabric, color, and texture. When you take the time to develop your personal sense of style and a quality wardrobe with classic, unique, and memorable pieces, your confidence and personality will shine through and people will take notice.

So go out there and shop for America!

Reverse Pumps Anyone?

Okay, I have to admit that the first time I saw these Marc Jacobs reverse pumps, I thought they were ridiculous.

After seeing them in action on Parker Posey, however, they actually looked pretty cute. Not sure how difficult it would be to walk in them, and I would think that they may even just kill your feet because all of your weight would be on the ball of your foot, whereas with regular heels or even stilettos some of the weight is on your heels.

But kudos to Marc Jacobs for coming up with something truly original (and thank God it's not another bootie design).

The patent pair are available at at Saks by pre-order only.

Trend Alert: Lauren Moshi T-shirts and Hoodies

If Paris Hilton owns three of them and Sienna Miller is spotted wearing one, it's officially a trend, right? These Lauren Moshi t-shirts and hoodies have been popping up all over Hollywood lately. Featuring sophisticated and artful line drawings of anything from plants and animals to motorcycles sunglasses, these tanks, tees, and hoodies look great layered or alone.

Try wearing with jeans and sandals for a laid back weekend look or a black miniskirt and stilettos for a rocker-chic look. I love the generous cut, which is a nice change from the ultra-tight tanks we have grown accustomed to seeing.

Love This Handbag

I just checked out the new Spring arrivals from 7 For All Mankind, and I have to say that I am just gaga over the new Mixed Media Top Zip Satchel. I love everything about this bag - from the shape, to the contrasting patterns, to the hardware on the handles.

Jackets Are Still All The Rage!

I love people-watching at the airports. One thing I couldn't help but notice was all the jackets women were wearing - mostly made of woven materials, usually in a coarser texture like linen or cotton. From babydoll styles to swing styles and everything in between, it definitely looks like jackets are still all the rage.

Check out my jacket favs here. Pair them with a pencil skirt in white, black, or brown, or with jeans. Either way, they will look great!
